Our Story
Prior to starting Brains and Games, I was not only a working professional living in suburban London, yet I was a working professional with a wife that wanted to re-train and move from one profession to another. A completely different profession that required an extensive programme of re-training and extended work experience. How do you contend with that… working with a situation, your partner who wanted to better herself for all the right reasons, and all combined with a young, primary school-aged family. There’s more. No family in the vicinity, close family friends working full time time etc. Dilemma. Cue wraparound care, a champion that came galloping to the rescue.
The consumer became a provider. Brains and Games was born some years later, providing high quality, affordable wraparound childcare to Burleigh families in 2017. Based on years of being a user of an established and trusted partner to our own children’s Primary School, we had a clear vision of what was needed. Brains and Games is fully Ofsted registered, welcomes children aged 4 to 11 and is independent of the school. Our daily sessions operate on-site, ensuring that your children are assured by the familiarity of their surroundings.
Our mission is therefore to offer children an outstanding, fun-filled session when in our care. We listen, we act and then we offer a safe and engaging environment which allows the children to run the club for us. Yes, that’s right, if the children are happy and engaged, they will choose the right action, the right activity and show us the value of all that inspires them.
Trust is at the heart of all that we do. Trust engenders respect and confidence, allowing the children to fully engage with our staff and activities. The confidence that children build whilst with Brains and Games should serve them well and in all that they aspire to for their future.
I am proud to offer a childcare setting for all. I hope to see you at some point in the very near future.
